The best bar sink faucets

A bar faucet is a fit problem disguised as a shopping problem. Spout height, reach and hole count decide this, and only some makers publish all three.

By Ryder M.Last reviewed How we pick

Disclosure: we earn a commission if you buy through the Amazon links on this page, at no extra cost to you. Commission never decides a verdict or a ranking position — read our editorial policy and affiliate disclosure.

How we assessed these: we read each manufacturer's own published page or specification sheet for the named model numbers on 2026-11-01 and rank on those figures only - spout height, reach, flow rate, mounting, valve and what the maker says about body material. We have not installed these faucets, no independent laboratory publishes comparable durability or spray-force data for bar faucets, and no such figure appears here. Kohler's bar faucet is absent because kohler.com did not respond when we tried to read it, and we will not quote a retailer's specification as a manufacturer's.

Short answer

The best bar sink faucet for most bars is the Moen Arbor 5995: it is the only one of the three we could verify that publishes both spout height and reach, mounts through one hole or three, and docks its wand magnetically. If your basin is shallow or a cabinet sits above it, buy the low-arc Kraus Oletto KPF-2822 instead.

A bar sink is small, and that one fact changes which faucet specification matters. At the main sink you buy spray performance and finish. At a bar or prep sink you buy clearance, because the basin is typically 9 to 15 inches across and 5 to 7 inches deep, and it is very often tucked under a wall cabinet or in front of a window. Put a 15-inch faucet over a 6-inch bowl and every glass you rinse throws water at the backsplash.

So this roundup is organized around fit first and features second, and it is deliberately short. There are a great many bar faucets on sale; there are not many whose makers publish the numbers you need to check fit before the box arrives.

The four numbers that decide a bar faucet

Before any brand comparison, these are the figures to pull off the spec sheet. If a listing does not give them, that is information too.

  1. Spout height — how far the outlet sits above the deck. This is your usable clearance, and it is what determines whether a pint glass fits under the spout and whether the faucet clears a window sill or the underside of a cabinet.
  2. Spout reach — how far the outlet projects over the bowl. On a bar sink 9 to 15 inches wide, a reach much under 6 inches leaves water landing near the back wall of the basin rather than in the middle of it.
  3. Hole count and spacing — a bar deck drilled for a single hole takes almost anything. A deck drilled for three holes at 4 or 8 inch centers needs a faucet that offers a three-hole option or an escutcheon plate to cover what you are not using.
  4. Flow rate — stated in gallons per minute. A bar faucet is used in short bursts, so a lower rating costs you less than it would at the main sink, and some jurisdictions cap it.

Our faucet height and reach guide works through the same measurements at main-sink scale, and faucet hole configurations covers how to read the drilling on a deck you did not install.

Delta Essa 9913-DSTNot published (14-1/2" overall)Not published1.8 gpm1 or 3-hole, 8"Pull-down, MagnaTite docking

Every figure is the manufacturer's own published number, read on 2026-11-01 from the pages linked in Sources. Where a cell says "not published", the maker does not state that figure for that model and we will not estimate it. Note that Moen publishes a single height figure for the 5995 rather than separate deck-to-outlet and overall numbers, so it is not directly comparable to the Kraus pair.

The splash problem, and the arc that causes it

Splash at a bar sink is a geometry problem, not a quality problem. Water leaves the aerator, falls, and hits the bottom of the bowl. The further it falls, the faster it is traveling when it lands, and the more of it comes back up and over the rim. A shallow bowl gives it nowhere to go.

That is why a high-arc bar faucet is a genuinely good buy over a deep bar basin and a genuinely poor one over a shallow entertainer's basin. There is no setting that fixes it: the aerator pattern softens the stream but does not shorten the drop. If your bar bowl is around 5 to 6 inches deep, the low-arc option is not a compromise, it is the correct choice.

Pull-down wand or fixed spout

At the main sink this is barely a question — a wand earns its keep washing pans. At a bar sink the honest answer depends on what the sink is for.

Buy the wand if the bar sink is a working prep sink: you wash produce in it, you fill pitchers, you rinse the bowl itself. A wand lets you aim water at the sides of the basin, and on a bowl this small you will use that constantly.

Skip the wand if the sink exists to fill glasses and hold ice. A fixed spout has fewer parts that can fail, no hose to kink in a shallow cabinet, and no docking mechanism to loosen over the years. It is also the only way to get a genuinely low profile — a pull-down needs height to pull down from. Our pull-down vs pull-out comparison walks through the hose mechanics in more detail.

Why the hole count decides more than the brand

Bar decks come drilled two ways, and the drilling is not negotiable once the countertop is in. A single-hole deck takes a single-hole faucet directly, and takes a three-hole faucet only if you want to drill. A three-hole deck takes a three-hole faucet directly, and takes a single-hole faucet only with a deck plate that covers the outer two.

This is where the Arbor 5995 earns its place at the top: Moen publishes one-or-three-hole mounting for it, so it covers both cases out of the box. The Kraus Oletto is single-hole only, which means an older three-hole bar deck needs a separate escutcheon that is not in the box. Our deck plate guide explains which plates are interchangeable and which are brand-specific.

Flow rate at a bar sink

The two 1.8 gpm faucets here will feel marginally stronger than the 1.5 gpm Moen when you are filling a pitcher. That is the whole of the practical difference. A bar faucet runs for seconds at a time, so the annual water difference between these ratings is trivial, and in a jurisdiction that caps kitchen faucet flow at 1.8 gpm all three qualify anyway.

What a flow rating does not tell you is how the stream feels, because that is the aerator's job and nobody publishes a comparable figure for it. We go through what the rating does and does not predict in what is a good flow rate for a kitchen faucet.

What the makers will not tell you

Three gaps showed up repeatedly while reading these pages, and they are worth knowing before you shop.

  • Body material is usually unpublished. Kraus states lead-free solid brass with a brass waterway for the Oletto. Moen and Delta publish neither a body material nor a waterway material for their bar faucets, only certifications. Faucet body materials covers why that matters more than the finish does.
  • Reach is sometimes missing entirely. Delta publishes a 20-inch hose length for the Essa bar faucet and no spout reach figure at all. On a narrow bowl, reach is the number that decides whether the faucet is usable.
  • Nobody publishes durability. No independent laboratory tests residential bar faucets for finish wear, cartridge life in service, or docking-magnet strength over time. Kraus publishes a 500,000-cycle cartridge test, which is a manufacturer figure for one component, not a service-life claim for the faucet.

We also looked at the Delta Trinsic bar/prep faucet (9959-DST), which publishes a 13-inch height, a ceramic disc valve and NSF/ANSI 61 and 372 compliance. It is a legitimate faucet and it is currently sold, but it sits in a much higher price bracket than the three below for specifications that do not beat them, so it is not a pick here.

1. Best overall

Moen Arbor 5995 bar faucet

Moen · Best for bar sinks that get real use

The bar faucet to buy if the bar sink is the one you actually work in. It is the Arbor shape shrunk to bar scale, with the same Reflex docking as the full-size kitchen model, and Moen publishes the two figures that decide fit: 14.38 inches of spout height and 6.56 inches of reach. The mounting is the quiet advantage — one or three holes, so it drops into an old three-hole bar deck without a separate plate purchase.

What works

  • Reflex docking is the same system as the full-size Arbor, so the wand seats the same way and replacement wands are a stocked part
  • One or three hole mounting — an old three-hole bar deck needs no extra escutcheon
  • 68" hose is long for a bar faucet, which is what makes it usable for filling a cooler on the floor
  • 1.5 gpm with a cleaning-rinse function, so the lower flow rate is not a usability penalty

What does not

  • At 14.38" of published spout height this is a tall faucet for a small basin, and a shallow bar bowl will splash
  • Moen publishes one height figure for this model rather than separate deck-to-outlet and overall numbers, so the exact clearance under the spout is not a published figure — measure your window sill before ordering
  • The handle mounts on the right only; a left-hand approach to a corner bar sink is awkward
  • No independent lab publishes durability or finish-wear data for this model, and neither do we

Skip it if

Skip it if your bar basin is shallow — under about six inches deep, a 14-inch arc turns rinsing a glass into a splash problem. Buy the low-arc Oletto instead.

2. Best for low clearance

Kraus Oletto KPF-2822 bar faucet

Kraus · Best for shallow basins and low clearance

The bar faucet for a shallow basin, and the only one of the three whose body material Kraus actually publishes: lead-free solid brass with a brass waterway. At 12 inches overall and 8 inches of spout height it fits under a low cabinet or a window, and the tradeoff is honest — one spray function, no wand, nothing to dock.

What works

  • Lead-free solid brass body with a brass waterway, published as such — most faucets at this bracket publish no body material at all
  • 8" spout height and 12" overall is genuinely low-clearance: it fits under a window sill or a wall cabinet a pull-down bar faucet would hit
  • Published reach of 6-1/2" is within a quarter inch of the Moen bar faucet despite being half the height
  • Brushed Brass and Spot Free Antique Champagne Bronze are catalog finishes, so a warm bar faucet does not mean a boutique purchase

What does not

  • One spray function and no pull-down wand — you cannot aim water at the sides of the bowl, which is the main reason to want a wand at a prep sink
  • Single hole only, so a three-hole bar deck needs a separate deck plate that is not in the box
  • 1.8 gpm, the highest of the three, from the smallest faucet
  • Kraus publishes the cycle test for the cartridge but no durability or finish-wear data for the faucet as a whole, and no independent lab publishes one

Skip it if

Skip it if the bar sink is where you wash dishes. Without a wand you will be rinsing around the bowl by hand, and a pull-down bar faucet solves exactly that.

Delta · Best for prep sinks, and anyone who wants the paperwork

The bar/prep faucet with the documentation to back it up: ceramic disc valve, MagnaTite magnetic docking, NSF/ANSI 61 and 372 certification and a lifetime limited warranty, all published by Delta on the model's own page. It is also the one that offers Champagne Bronze if the bar is where you want a warm finish without re-doing the main sink.

What works

  • MagnaTite docking is a magnet rather than a friction collar — the part that usually fails on a small pull-down is the part Delta engineered around
  • Ceramic disc valve and NSF/ANSI 61 and 372 certification are both published, which is more than most bar faucets state
  • 1 or 3-hole mounting at 8" centers covers both a new single-hole bar deck and an older three-hole one
  • Champagne Bronze is a catalog finish, not a special order, so the warm-finish version carries the same warranty

What does not

  • Delta publishes a 20" hose length but no spout reach figure for this model, so the one number that tells you whether the wand clears the far side of the bowl is missing
  • 1.8 gpm is above the 1.5 gpm the Moen bar faucets rate, which matters if your jurisdiction caps flow
  • Delta does not publish a body material for this model, only the valve and the certifications
  • 14-1/2" overall is tall for a bar sink — the same splash caveat as any high-arc small-sink faucet

Skip it if

Skip it if you need a published reach number to plan around — Delta does not give one here, and on a narrow bar bowl that is the figure that matters most.

How to choose between the three

If you want one sentence each: buy the Arbor 5995 if the bar sink does real work and the cabinet above it is high enough; buy the Oletto KPF-2822 if clearance is tight or the basin is shallow; buy the Essa 9913-DST if you want a documented ceramic disc valve and Champagne Bronze in the catalog, and you can live without a published reach figure.

If you are still deciding whether a bar faucet is even the right category — some people are really shopping for a compact main-sink faucet — our bar faucet vs kitchen faucet comparison puts the two side by side on the published numbers, and best kitchen faucets for small sinks covers the compact full-size options.

Warm finishes are unusually well served in this category: both the Kraus Oletto and the Delta Essa publish a brass or champagne bronze variant in their standard catalog. If that is the look you want, the best gold and champagne bronze kitchen faucets ranks those finishes across both bar and full-size models.

What to take away

  • Fit beats features at a bar sink: spout height, reach, hole count, then everything else.
  • A high arc over a shallow basin splashes, and no aerator setting fixes the drop height.
  • Measure deck-to-cabinet clearance against overall height, not spout height.
  • A wand is worth it at a working prep sink and dead weight at a glass-filling sink.
  • Only Kraus publishes a body material here. Delta publishes no reach figure at all.

Common questions

What is the difference between a bar faucet and a kitchen faucet?
Scale and intent. A bar faucet is built for a basin roughly 9 to 15 inches across, so it has a shorter reach and often a lower arc, and it is usually single-handle and single-hole. A kitchen faucet is sized for a 22-inch main bowl. The plumbing connections are the same 3/8-inch compression fittings in both cases.
Can you use a bar faucet on a regular kitchen sink?
Physically yes, practically no. The reach figures here run about 6-1/2 inches, where a main-sink faucet is typically 8 to 9-1/2 inches, so the water lands near the back of a standard 22-inch front-to-back bowl rather than over the drain. It will fit the holes and disappoint you daily.
How tall should a bar faucet be?
Tall enough to clear what you fill and short enough not to splash. Measure the deck-to-cabinet or deck-to-sill distance and compare it to the overall height, then check the spout height against the tallest glass or pitcher you fill. Over a shallow basin of about 5 to 6 inches, a low-arc spout is the better choice.
Do bar faucets need a deck plate?
Only when the deck is drilled for three holes and the faucet mounts through one. Some bar faucets offer a one-or-three-hole mounting option that handles this without an extra part; single-hole-only models need a separate escutcheon, and it is usually not in the box.
Is a pull-down bar faucet worth it?
At a working prep sink, yes - a wand lets you aim water at the sides of a small bowl, which you will do constantly. At a sink that only fills glasses and holds ice, a fixed spout has fewer failure points, no hose to kink and a lower profile.
