About Spout & Sink

Spout & Sink covers three kitchen fixtures in depth: faucets, sinks and garbage disposals. Not kitchens in general, not appliances, not remodelling — three fixtures, exhaustively, because that is the question people actually have when they are standing in front of a broken faucet or a cabinet full of sink options.

It is for the person with one specific question. How much reach does a faucet need for my sink. Whether 16-gauge steel is worth the money. What horsepower a household of four actually needs. Whether a disposal will fit under a ten-inch bowl. Those questions have real answers, they turn on published specifications, and most of the internet answers them with a paragraph of preamble and a list of products.

So every page here leads with the answer, shows the numbers it rests on, and links each figure to the manufacturer page or specification sheet it came from. There are currently 62 pages and 23 named products, and every one of those products is a real, currently-sold model whose specifications we read from the maker's own documentation.

• We do not lab-test products. We have no test facility and we do not claim measurements of our own. Where a measurement matters, we tell you who measured it and link to them.
• We do not publish prices. A cached price is a wrong price. Every buy link goes to the retailer, where the current number is shown.
• We do not print numbers nobody published. If no manufacturer or independent lab has measured the thing you want to know, the page says so instead of estimating.
• We do not accept sponsorship or free product in exchange for coverage, and no commission rate has ever decided a ranking position.
• We do not cover bathrooms, appliances or remodel planning. Three fixtures is the whole scope, deliberately.

Ryder M. is the hands-on owner behind Magoo Media Group, the publisher of Spout & Sink. He built this site to answer one kind of question properly: the specific, spec-level question you have when you are about to buy or replace a single fixture.

We are deliberately not going to tell you he is a licensed plumber, that he has spent twenty years in the trade, or that he has installed hundreds of these things, because none of that has been established and inventing it would undermine the one thing this site is built on. What we will tell you is how the recommendations are made, in full, on the methodology page — and you can check every figure against the source we link to.

Spout & Sink is published by Magoo Media Group. The publisher's name appears in the footer of every page and in the structured data on every article, so there is never any doubt about who stands behind what is written here.

We earn a commission when you buy through our links to Amazon, at no extra cost to you. That is the only revenue this site has. Three sources, and we tell you which is which on the page: manufacturer specifications, published independent test results cited by name, and recurring patterns in owner feedback at scale. If a figure here is wrong, or a product we recommend has been discontinued, tell us and it gets fixed. Corrections are read first. A recommendation for a model we can no longer verify is sold gets removed — that is the fastest way to lose the only thing this site has.
